Changing Life After a Life-Changing Event: 30 Journal Prompts and Stories to Help After a Loss
“I love this journal! Vickie does a great job of giving readers the tools to deal with their own personal, unique life-changing events. The exercises, writing prompts, prayers, and space to write or just be silent, are a great way to journey into and through the ache of loss. I only wish Vickie had written this journal twenty-six years ago after I suffered two major losses in four days!” Amy Keller
This is a devotional journal to use in your journey—when loss is new or if it stems from years ago. You will find 30 days of journal prompts and exercises to help you record and reflect on moments associated with a life-changing event.
Author Vickie J. Maris opens each day with a story to jump-start your writing. Several stories include examples of loss in her life ranging from job loss to her father’s death. Read descriptions of tools she used to get through the experiences.
Write For Five (online group)
We’re breaking through the writer’s block in April! We hope you’ll join us on the journey.
Ready to enroll: Write For Five (to enroll, click the workshop title to the left)
A workshop in April 2021 led by Vickie Maris Greeson and Scott Greeson
Format: Online; write for at least 5 minutes a day at a time that works best for you; 2 optional livestream sessions per week (30 minutes or less) led by Vickie and/or Scott
We both have found that we have allowed ourselves to get away from the routine of daily writing during this past year. Well, it’s time to change that! Vickie feels another book coming on. Scott knows there are a couple songs just waiting around the next neuro pathway!
Join us in this exercise in accountability by joining the group for April. Via our private Facebook group, we can provide encouragement to each other to write each day. Five minutes per day! You can do that. Together in the online group, and knowing that we’re each planning to write for five minutes every day, we can be a source of encouragement to each other. (The online meetups are optional.)
We have found that writing, even just for a few minutes each day, helps us process grief; brings ideas to light; shows us patterns as we reflect on previous writings; and generally lifts our spirits.
During two optional sessions per week in either the private group or a Zoom call, we will host a meetup (30 minutes or less) for sharing of writing prompts, our discoveries, our reflections, or for simply hanging out together.
If you would like to use a copy of Vickie’s 30-day journal as a tool for your writing adventure, it is available in Amazon, “Changing Life After a Life-Changing Event.” You are also welcome to use a different style of journal, or a notebook, phone or tablet.
Bring your whole study group to the 30-day journaling group!
If you would like the option of a private, 30-day journaling group with members of your grief group, your women’s Bible study, or your mastermind group or other small group, I would be happy to set up a private group that is exclusive to your members. For that option, please send me an email at the email address, “info @ vickiemaris.com” to provide me with the names of your group members who have enrolled along with their FB names, and emails. I will then set up a private Facebook group in which we can interact for the 30 days of journaling.
